In world almost every minute rape is happening somewhere? Be it a forced sex by a husband, be it an unasked advances by a boyfriend, it may be simple but intentional touch in a bus or Metro? But who is to blame. Our society was from very beginning remain a male dominated society, even our Hindu epics like Ramayana where Sita was first kidnapped by Ravana and then her husband Ram didn’t accept her without proving herself that she was still untouched, and Mahabharta was full of male dominance tales. Gandhari was forced to marry blind Dhritrashtra, and then Bhishma pitamaha kidnapped three ladies to get married with his King, likewise Draupadi was despite being married Arjuna had to accept four of his brothers as her husband. This male dominance is not even evaporated from our societies today?
How girls are forced into unwanted situations with their consent and lawfully?
The major events like Miss world, miss universe etc, become kinky events and satisfies most of the sexual urges that too legally and with their consent, by making them wearing scanty dresses which leaves almost nothing left for imaginations. How many hungry eyes are getting food for their malicious thoughts by looking them almost nude and over that all the government are actually given their acceptance to these events?
Many magazines like Playboy etc, ask even common household girls to come and participate and show their body to satisfy hunger of so many prying eyes. The founder of Playboy when started his magazine almost accepted that showing nudity might be next to prostitution, but then why not, girls are getting famous and being famous is important, spoiling societies is not.
Tabloids are to be blamed? Well believe it or not, but worlds best selling tabloids like Sun in UK and Times of India in India are selling nothing but pure and simple uninhibited sex. Why? because people love to get kicked through semi nude or nude pictures, and that too in ethical ways. People don’t mind if you are sitting in public places are looking at some actress picture with hardly anything hidden. Man, I am not giving food to my sexual desires but actually reading news, pictures are just for details.
Why double standards in world? Most of the good societies are preventing legal prostitutions in their places, but dirty thoughts, who can grow them? There are ways to feed them? Most of the politicians around the globe are not only getting indulged in illegal sexual activities but give them chance and they can hardly stop cribbing about all the good theories about why other people cannot do (which they perform behind legal or illegal veils). It not only happens in developing countries but developed countries are not way ahead, and girls which are getting exploited don’t know or are being convinced it is not exploitation.
Electronic Media is the major culprit. Tons and tons of porn websites are available for almost free access and they just for legal matters ask if you are above 18 and on your own risks get into the website and feed the sexual thought dragon. Not only net, but what about television and so called family soap operas. They are the worst, what you all the see is just sexual needs to be satisfied (mentally or physically) first and then rest are secondary needs. Husband has eye on sister in law, wife is looking for attention from husband’s friend.
Now to main point. Are we creating rapist in our society? Guys when mind is too much fed by junk of almost all kind that too most of it legally, where to get actual food to eat. Now all the girls are not like what is represented by media (News and Electronic) and other sources, so what is the outcome. You simply cannot assure if you have given ammunition to someone and he will not use it? Ain’t US tried ammunition selling through Boeing, General Dynamics etc to the world, what is the outcome? Someone somewhere at least a single person is getting killed by someone for petty issues or through terrorists. Then why underestimate the power of malicious thoughts are being constantly feed into the minds of thousands and too unnoticed by them.
I was actually astonished when I got the news of Shiney Ahuja (Indian well established Hero) was got itself in that situation or raping his maid. Despite it is almost easily guessable that he might have accessed to lot many girls but he fall for his maid? What made him so? The desire and the constantly fed sexual desires and thoughts? What do you expect? Are not we sitting on dynamite? Why we are saying so much about making laws more stringent, why we cannot do proper due diligence and try to kill the reason for rape. I am not sure if I am kicking the hornet’s nest, but yes these are my thoughts and many of you might not agree with me.
